Shipping Policy
This page follows a Living & Loft order through its journey. Each section covers one stage, in the order it happens, so you can see what takes place and when. Anything quoted as a number is the figure Living & Loft works to.
Delivery area
The journey starts before anything is bought. Living & Loft delivers to addresses within the United States, and that covers street addresses, PO boxes and military APO/FPO locations alike.
What is not covered is international delivery. A parcel cannot be forwarded overseas by an agent either, because once a consignment leaves the country it can no longer be tracked, replaced cheaply or brought back within the return period. Orders addressed outside the United States are refused at the border, so the delivery country should be checked before an order is confirmed.
Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories sit at the edge of the network. They are served, but on a slower service that adds two to three working days to every transit figure quoted further down this page.
If an address falls outside the delivery area, the checkout declines the order before payment is taken. Nothing is charged for a parcel that could not have been sent, and the customer is not left to discover the problem days later.
Shipping charges
The next stage is the checkout, where the cost of sending the parcel is settled. Standard shipping is free once the merchandise total reaches $95 before tax; below that figure, one flat rate is applied.
No per-item surcharge and no handling fee is added on top. A second item in the same order does not increase the shipping charge, because the parcel was being sent in any case.
No express or next-day option is offered. Every order travels on the same tracked ground service, which keeps both the promise and the pricing simple, and means there is no faster tier to compare against.
The free-shipping threshold is measured on the discounted merchandise subtotal, before tax, rather than on the final total. A basket that sits just under the line is often cheaper to top up than to pay the flat rate.
Processing schedule
Once the order is confirmed, it enters the packing queue. Orders placed before 12pm on a working day are picked, packed and labelled the next business day.
Orders received after that time, at a weekend or on a public holiday are dispatched on the next working day. The warehouse operates Monday to Friday and does not dispatch on public holidays, so a Friday evening order begins its journey at the start of the following week.
Every parcel is packed by hand and the contents checked against the order. Fragile or oversized items receive additional protection, which can add one working day; where that happens, the customer is told by email rather than left to infer it from the tracking.
If the dispatch estimate in the confirmation email changes, Living & Loft writes to say so. Silence is the one thing that will not happen at this stage.
The delivery window
The parcel is now with the carrier. Transit takes 5 to 8 business days from the first scan, counted in working days and excluding public holidays.
The scan starts the clock, not the moment the order was placed. A parcel collected late on a Friday therefore begins its transit on the following working day, which is worth allowing for when a date matters.
Rural addresses, mountain districts and island territories normally fall at the upper end of the window, because the parcel passes through more sorting stages before it reaches the local delivery office.
One national carrier handles every parcel, which keeps tracking consistent but means a single parcel cannot be upgraded, re-routed or held at a depot for collection once it is in the network.
Tracking updates
While the parcel is moving, tracking is available and updates at each sorting hub rather than continuously. A quiet page is not by itself evidence of a problem.
A tracking number is emailed as soon as the carrier scans the parcel, usually within 24 hours of dispatch. From that point, Living & Loft sees the same information the customer sees.
Where the tracking has shown no movement for two working days, write to support@modellasale.shop with the order reference and a trace will be opened with the carrier.
The outcome of that trace is communicated in writing, including where the carrier declares the parcel lost, at which point a replacement or a refund is offered.
Delays and damage
Not every journey runs to plan. Weather, a carrier backlog or a sorting error can delay a parcel, and occasionally one arrives damaged, incomplete or containing the wrong item.
Where that happens, write to support@modellasale.shop within seven days of delivery and attach photographs of the item and its packaging. Photographs settle most claims faster than a description, because the carrier's own form asks for them.
Retain the outer box and any internal protection until the matter is closed. Carriers frequently ask to inspect the packaging, and a claim can stall while that inspection is pending.
Living & Loft pursues the claim on the customer's behalf rather than asking the customer to open it, and offers a replacement or a refund once the claim is confirmed. Where a replacement is unavailable, a refund is issued and the customer is told directly.
Address problems
Once a parcel has been delivered, the journey is over, but a mistake in the address can reopen it. An address can be corrected only while the order is still being packed.
Send the order reference and the complete corrected address to support@modellasale.shop as soon as a mistake is noticed. After the carrier has scanned the parcel the destination is fixed, and neither Living & Loft nor the carrier can alter it.
Where a parcel comes back because the address was incomplete, or because delivery was not taken, a second dispatch can be arranged. The cost of that second dispatch falls to the customer, since the first attempt has already been paid for.
Where the error was Living & Loft's rather than the customer's, the second dispatch is arranged at no cost, and the customer is told plainly that the mistake was on our side.
